Color Mixing Directory Beader
Color mixing Beader Directory: 200 Failsafe Color Beautiful beads written by Sandra Wallace and published by Krause Publications (U.S. $ 22.99, $ 27.99 CAN) responds to the need to understand how colors can work for or against it in their creations of bead jewelry. Unlike many jewelry books published today, do not think the primary audience of this book is the first manufacturer of jewelry, just for the lack of nuts and bolts type of information, but how the basis for the manufacture of jewelry not is clearly the purpose of this text. Instead, I saw this as a sort of portable classroom in color theory. Certainly, the beginner will find this information useful, but I think even more, the renowned designer of jewelry (especially at intermediatel jewelry) will find this book useful.
The first chapter includes detailed discussions on color theory, the basis of the color wheel for different types of color combinations from the wheel. The second chapter is based on this information and gives examples of jewelry of how you can implement different types of color combinations that cold, warm, neutral, and so on. The last chapter has 10 projects using some of the color schemes of the sample chapter two.
Although there are some gems here, plans and color samples consist mainly of pearl jewelry techniques of weaving. Thus, while the rails logs can still find a lot of information here would apply color to string, balls of tissue is probably more willing to try the projects.
If you are struggling with the combinations of color, or trying different colors, then this might be a good resource for you.

Connie Fox's Design Lessons On CD
I'm not sure what I expected when I finally got to take a good look at Connie Fox's CD "Design Fundamentals for Wire Jewelry" (U.S. $ 23.95). I would wait CD wire jewelry techniques-oriented. I guess I was thinking about this, because Connie is so well known for teaching writing and designing jewelry.
Now that I've seen, however, the CD title says it is obviously not specific "how to" double that of standard techniques. However, I think the title is a bit misleading, because this CD, in my opinion, not just for the wire jewelry. Even if you're a beader or work in other jewelry that the media as a goldsmith, I think his message in all areas of jewelry design.
So if it is not the typical "how to make jewelry" CD, then what is this? It 'really a lesson in jewelry design, covering topics such as how to define your own style, design fundamentals, such as space, structure and balance, and planning processes, such as keeping a journal. Connie has organized a CD-class twelve lessons: Signature Style, Using Design Journal, the establishment of a form of theme, size, Line and Scale, materials, texture, color and emotion, color, and the Ministry of Health, Positive and Negative Space, Balance, Games and Business. It covers every subject and examples of using personal cord jewelry designs will be used to describe the points that makes each lesson.
If you've done more serious about jewelry and do not have the luxury of time to plan or institute in your area, then the CD as it may be useful in the development of the concepts of jewelry design. I think this CD could be useful for beginners who do not understand the basic design methods. You can find more CD Connie Fox Wire Jewelry Fundamentals, "on its website.

Back to the '70s, I was very macramé. I remember what plant hangers, wall hangings, and of course lots of jewels. In this context of my macrame necklace real glory days, that somehow survive.
In the 80s the popularity macrame was diving, and so did the accessories. So, today I had to start over, to get started making macrame jewelry. But I literally spent less than $ 20 at Wal-Mart to begin.

Tips for Frugal Jewelry Making
Renew, reuse, recycle, and save money is a popular mantra for all aspects of our lives, and these ideas relate to jewelry making as well. In addition, Earth-friendly and sustainable concepts can save you money on jewelry supplies while it forces you to think more creatively. Here are some tips to help you become creatively frugal when it comes to jewelry designing.
Use Found Objects
A bead can be anything with a hole in it. With some creativity, found objects can be incorporated into your jewelry and are a wonderful way to recycle. Old computer parts (like RAM chips), those free CDs you get in the mail, bottle caps, buttons - get creative. If the item doesn't have a hole, consider making one using a hand-drill or metal hole puncher.
Comparison Shop
Even if you’ve been purchasing from the same vendor for years, don’t feel shy about shopping around. One supplier may have better prices on beads, but another may have better prices on finding. Some vendors will also have sales going on at different times during the year as well as deals on shipping costs. To get started with your comparison shopping, you can find a long list of suppliers linked on this site.
Team Up and Buy in Bulk
The more you buy, the better your price - usually. If you don’t always have enough money yourself, team up with others who share your passion. Staple supplies like wire and findings are items that most of us use, so these can often be bought in large quantities and split up between those ordering.
Garage Sales and Thrift Stores
Most garage sales and thrift stores have at least a few pieces of jewelry for sale. Don’t turn your nose up, even if it seems ugly. Many pieces can be taken apart and salvaged for the beads and findings. Jewelry is not the only item to consider though. An old crock pot can be a pickle pot; cracked China cups can hold beads or be smashed into pieces and transformed into pendants; baskets can be used to store hand tools or finished jewelry.
Go to a Hardware Store
I like to visit my local hardware store in search of hidden treasure. The chain stores with their forklifts and endless isles intimidate me, but the small mom and pop place down the road is full of wire, chain, and tools. I usually find something new while browsing through the isles.
Inventory Your Supplies
I can't tell you how many times I've come home from a jewelry supply run only to discover that I already had a number of items in my current jewelry supply stash. Simply getting your jewelry studio organized can make a big difference when it comes to frugal jewelry designing. Know what you have. Label your supply containers so you can find items more quickly before you order more of the same.
Use What You Have First
On that same note, one frugal concept is to try to use what you already have in your stash. Maybe you don't have the jewelry component you want to use, but you might have a similar component that would work just as well.
Donate Orphaned Craft Supplies
There are many organizations that would be very appreciative of extra beads, findings, or other jewelry and crafting supplies that you may not need any more. Perhaps your jewelry designing has switched gears and you find yourself with a stash of supplies that no longer fit in with your design vision. Rather than leave these materials packed away, box them up and send them to a non-profit group who could use them.

How To Design A Jewelry Gift
Mother's Day, Father's Day and birthdays are a few times during the year that we invited to find the perfect gift. Like jewelry, we usually do this donation. But how can you start? How can a piece of jewelry you can be sure someone else will wear and enjoy? Although there are no guarantees, there are steps to take when designing the perfect gift.
People Analysis
When I create an ornament for a gift, I first think that I do for that person and analyze. Some of the questions I ask myself:
If you spend a lot of jewelry, a little 'or no?
If you do not wear jewelry, they tend to be small or large pieces?
What colors to use more often?
What is your mascot?
Do you have to use gold or silver?
These questions are a good place to begin to determine what type of jewelry a person prefers.
Select Item
Once you answered the questions, I begin to think about the type of item you'll do. If it's someone I know quite well as one of my sisters, I feel good making a bracelet, for example, because they know they have the same size as my wrist. However, if someone who does not know well, I think in general safer earrings, bracelet memory wire, or necklace Y. If it is a gift from the man, and not wear jewelry (which seems often the case), then there is always keychain or tacks.
Sketch of an idea
If it is a very special gift, and I have no intention of lightening bolt of inspiration hit me, I often take a few minutes to outline my ideas on paper. That way I can add or remove parts and pieces, because I think that design. In addition, this allows me to put down and watch the next day to see what I think. If I'm making a gift for someone else to give, I will show him the sketches and work with him that contains what they like from different points of view in a single project.
Make a prototype
If the model is new for me, and I've never done anything like this before, I make a prototype. I do not use the best materials to create this example. I'm just trying to get an idea of how I should do the job and how it looks when it's ready. If it's a piece I did before (as the wire and pearl necklace), and I'm just using a different color scheme, for example, if I'm going to use materials and to simulate the work, or even side by substances other , as they appear together. I do a lot when you work with pearls and beads advice to find the most helpful.
We hope these tips will help you create the perfect gift for friends and relatives. While most people appreciate the efforts of jewelry is always nice to hear that you are an individual gift.

Signing Your Jewelry
We have had a number of discussions on the forum about whether or not jewelry could be considered art. This has lead to some very active threads and has a brought up the idea of "signing" jewelry just like a painter signs a canvas. After reading through the various posts, I have up with a few ideas and supplier that can help you sign your jewelry.
Two of the most popular methods for signing finished jewelry are to either stamp the pieces or attach a metal tag that has been stamped.
Stamps: These are made of metal and normally look like a spike or a large nail. On the end of the stamp is a relief with the marking you want such as your initials, name, or logo. The end of the stamp is positioned over the piece to be marked, and a hammer is used to strike the opposite end of the stamp.
A stamp like this allows you to mark directly on the piece of jewelry if it is made of metal. If your jewelry does not allow a spot to be stamped, such as a beaded necklace or wire piece, then you could use a metal tag.
Metal tags: These come in a variety of metals such as plated base metals and sterling. They can be purchased blank, and then you can mark them with a stamp. Another option is to buy the tags already marked. This might cost a little more, but it could save you a lot of time since you would not have to stamp all those little tags by hand. Some findings suppliers as well as stamp supplier sell blank tags, and just about any casting service can create the pre-marked tags. Prices will vary between companies and depending on the metal of the tag.
Here is a list of a few companies that sell the products you need to either stamp or attach a tag to your jewelry. Since each person’s needs are different, you would need to contact the company for an estimate of the cost.

Bead Jewelry Design Patterns
jewelry makers often start early to make jewelry according to the instructions, as many free projects on this site. This is clearly a safe place to start, and practical techniques to make jewelry. Eventually, though, even beginners are eager to enter the world of jewelry design, so you do not need to copy the designs, but can not invent your own.

Recycled Jewelry
all manufacturers of jewelry when they come to do something about the accumulated inventory. Even if you sell your jewelry, if you had to do for a while ', will start to add up. There are only so many gifts can be made.
However, changes in lifestyles, develop their skills and tastes vary from year to year. So what happens? It ends with a large amount of jewelry you no longer want, they can no longer sell, or that this is not what you want. While all jewelry can be recycled, many of them can. Recycling your jewelry is a convenient way to cool your finished and unfinished inventory. Since I'm making jewelry for several years, I found some ways to do this:
Supply it. In February, wire or chain jewelry aside, it is possible to integrate the components and add them again in the inventory.
is in the bag. I'm pretty lazy, so sometimes I just get a small bag and toss it into my side gems for later. Then, as I feel the urge to make jewelry, I'll dig through it and choose the elements that may have accounts, wire, findings, or other components that I think I can use.
the donation. By donating your unwanted jewelry to complete a charity, you can help and assist you. Several charities have shops that sell secondhand items or crafts. Obviously, if you use some expensive components for your jewelry, this may not be the best option for you. However, some charities have other fundraising activities that could be perfect for your old mother.
Surrender it. When you watch, I threw a lot of my jewelry in a basket side and marked down. Customers loved to dig through it and did an incredible sale rack. (I always made sure that at least I have my money for the cost of supplies.) Large number of articles was something really wrong with them. Some were made of base metal results that I do not want to use. Some were items that sold well together, but ultimately, the trend has ended.
The auction will be. You could take in addition to the components and sell them in batches using some of the many online auctions. As the saying goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure."

Melt the butter in it. Of course, this only works with wire or metal objects. However, I left the bag of scrap metal. Sometimes I go back to the bag and find useful, like a piece of ring or a jump hook, but I have to digest a lot of this waste down the cast.
So do not worry too much jewelry to go around, in fact, there is such a thing as too much jewelry?

Analyze the person
When I create an ornament for a gift, I first think that I do for that person and analyze. Some of the questions I ask myself:
If you spend a lot of jewelry, a little 'or no?
If you do not wear jewelry, they tend to be small or large pieces?
What colors do you use often?
What is your mascot?
He is with gold or silver?
These questions are a good starting point to determine what type of jewelry a person prefers.
Choose an article
Once I have answered these questions, I begin to think about the type of item that I do. If it's someone I know very well, as one of my sisters, I feel comfortable making them a bracelet, for example, because I know they are roughly the same size wrist as I do. However, if someone I know so well, I usually find it safer to make earrings, bracelet memory wire, or series Y. If it is the gift of a man, and he does not like jewelry (which often seems to be the case), so it is always key chains, or tie.
Sketch of an idea
If it is a very special gift and I am not a moment of inspiration, I realized, I often take a few minutes to outline my design ideas on paper. In this way, I can add or remove parts and pieces that I think of the design. Also, I can make and see the next day to see what I think about it. If I make a gift for someone else to give, I show him the sketch and work with him in the integration of what you like about the various ideas into a design.
A prototype
If the model is new for me, and I've never done anything like this before, I make a prototype. I do not use the best materials to create this example. I'm just trying to get an idea of how I should do the job and how it looks when it's ready. If it's a piece I did before (as the wire and pearl necklace), and I'm just using a different color scheme, for example, if I'm going to use materials and simulation of a piece, or just put the material on side by side as they appear together. I do a lot when you work with pearls and beads advice to find the most helpful.
I hope these tips will help you create the perfect gift for friends and family. Although most people appreciate their efforts to make jewelry, it's always good to feel that you have matched the gift in person.

Mother And Child Together
My good friend was pregnant with her first child, and had heard of "Feed the necklaces" to turn the baby when bottle-or breastfeeding. He was not happy with all the drawings he found, so he asked me to make a made for him.
It took a lot of research to find suitable beads. They must be flexible, non-toxic plastic, and certainly no glass or wood. They should be fairly large, and eye grabbing a range of shapes, colors and textures. In short, everything that the child can grasp, chew, and abuse in general.
I decided that the best approach was to buy teethers pre-made and to remove jewelry. I used a doubled string nylon kite string to the range with plastic keys as a sort of center or focal point. There were lots of beads that remain, so I made a mini-ring (which is actually more than a bracelet), whose mother and child on the road.

How To Lose A Customer For Five Seconds
I just found an article that shows what I had long suspected: ". Four seconds maximum time length in an average online shopper expects that the Web page to load before any rejection of the retail site"
This study shows that you lose potential customers if your site takes too long jewelry to load. What can you do to prevent this? The answer is: Keep it simple! Here are some suggestions:
* Avoid Flash introductions.
I usually do not back out of these sites before the intro has also stopped playing. At best, expect the "Skip Intro" button, which means that I do not see it.
* Avoid the music.
Although this may not match the load, you should consider that some users can access your website from a computer at work. When the music starts to play, they are likely to press the back button on their browser before colleagues or supervisors start watching what they do.
* Avoid activities.
I remember running into a jewelry site with animated text (Click!) Began to emerge when the cursor is moved next to "Buy" button. Not only does this slow down page load times and scrolling, it was also very annoying.
* Keep your graphic files small.
Yes, he wants to show their beautiful handmade jewelry, but not necessarily with 800 images k. Crop pictures, save them in slightly lower quality settings, or just use thumbnails instead.
* Avoid the importance of graphics.
It is good to know that you are a faithful dog or cat cute, but you do not necessarily show their pictures on your homepage.
* Avoid endless scrolling.
I saw a number of sites that are actually very simple pages long, and we must move and move and move ....
Your site must be a gateway featuring his work and takes users quickly areas of interest (on the contrary, all sub-page should also contain the navigation elements that allow the user to return to your page home or go elsewhere).
If a user can not scroll down because your site is still loading huge, he or she will probably leave your site.

Fake Exterminator Steals Jewelry From Brooklyn Homes
MYFOXNY.COM - A man claiming to be an exterminator is making his way into homes in Brooklyn and stealing jewelry, according to the NYPD.
In the most recent robbery, on February 28, the man told the co-op residents at 2525 West 2nd Street that he needed to exterminate the building and that they should leave while he worked due to the fumes.
One robbery victim says the man told her he had been sent by the co-op board and to wait outside of her unit for 30 minutes while he finished spraying. That gave the man plenty of time to get away after snatching jewelry and hiding it in a canister he was carrying.
Police are passing out a sketch of the fake exterminator. They describe him as Black or Hispanic, 28-35 years old, with a stocky build and a thin moustache. He was wearing a dark colored uniform during each of the five robberies.
The co-op board at 2525 West 2nd in the Gravesend section of the borough has posted warning notices and asked people to please stop leaving the front door of the building open.

Christina Hendricks Was The Face Of The Campaign For Vivienne Westwood Jewellery
The actress, 35, redhead, who plays the voluptuous Joan Harris AMC drama series 1960-era, appears in the promotional photos of the campaign in a necklace with a pendant chain Palladium heart and the inscription Gaia. The collection can be found in shops in London Vivienne Westwood and Los Angeles from March 2011, with prices ranging from $ 445 to $ 900
"Vivienne Westwood has always been one of my favorite designers," Hendricks said in a statement by the Palladium Alliance. "I admire that Vivienne used his models to inspire change, and the songs are just so wonderful. As palladium is naturally white metal, the pieces really shine under the lights and I can not wait to wear on the red carpet!"
Hendricks is seen by many as a sex symbol, and is so celebrated and criticized for his image. He has been praised for the British minister for a positive role model for women and sexy star of the advertising campaign for fall 2010 clothing manufacturer London Fog, who said the actress was her "glamorous and sophisticated character."
But the New York Times quoted a stylist who spoke Hendricks as a "big girl" and hit the television star for his peach-colored dress wearing Christian Siriano the Golden Globe Awards 2010. Hendricks said his feelings were hurt.
In December, spoke about online relationships Hendricks said she can play "Wonder Woman" on the screen. She said she had heard the rumor and would love to take this role. It was announced earlier this month that "Friday Night Lights" actress Adrianne Palicki was chosen to play the new Wonder Woman in a pilot television "Ally McBeal" and "Boston Legal" show runner David E. Kelley on NBC. A "Wonder Woman" movie is also being developed by Warner Bros. Pictures and is now scheduled for release in 2013, according to preliminary casting lists. The lead actress has not been named.
When asked about the British Times newspaper reports said he may star of "Wonder Woman", a former actress from "Transformers" Megan Fox's character is called "lame superhero."
Lynda Carter, an actress of 59 who played Wonder Woman in a television program in the 1970s, said the actress should not "trash" his old character.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Late Tuesday night in San Francisco, a dead body was found inside a North Beach jewelry store. The store is located on Mason Street near Lombard.
