No kids ask adults are weird: Sometimes they steal their jewelry!
Two news stories making the rounds this morning. First of all, outside of Montebello, 42, Belinda Berumen was arrested for stealing jewelry religious first and second graders with their children to school. Apparently, six to eight-year-old set is attractive to the Christian-themed bling, and Berumen have resorted to good old-fashioned tricks in order to contain the goods.
Authorities say his method was to "offer to enter the jewelry while children were playing or tell them something was wrong with the elements and correct them," according to CBS2.
In Long Beach, two men 19 years and a girl of 17 years were arrested for making a necklace ... once a period of five years, the neck. The incident took place in December 2010 when the girl "and her mother were walking in the 1100 block of East 10th Street when the suspect snatched a gold chain from the throat of the girl and ran," according to the Daily Breeze. Authorities believe that the trio might be behind the other flights, similar muscle in the region. It is unclear whether these other "chain theft" cases involved children of its own size.
